LAS VEGAS, NV – A man wanted in connection with a murder in Cleveland, Ohio, has been apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Las Vegas, Nevada. The arrest, announced late yesterday, concludes a multi-state manhunt that began several weeks ago following the fatal shooting of Martin Johnson on January 17 in Cleveland’s neighborhood.

The suspect, identified as Daryl D. Patton, 29, was taken into custody without incident at November 21 at a residence located on Las Vegas. He is currently being held in the Clark County Detention Center pending extradition back to Ohio to face charges of aggravated murder.

The Cleveland Police Department, which led the investigation, collaborated closely with the U.S. Marshals Service’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and their Las Vegas counterparts to track down Patton. The details surrounding the original crime and the apprehension remain limited at this time, pending further investigation and the official filing of charges.

“This arrest highlights the dedication and collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies across state lines,” stated U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott. “We are committed to bringing those responsible for violent crimes to justice, no matter where they attempt to hide.”

Further information regarding the case, including court dates and the specific circumstances of the murder, is expected to be released by the Cleveland Police Department in the coming days. The investigation remains ongoing.
