In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, in partnership with U.S. Bank, recently unveiled a newly renovated basketball court at the Sabathani Community Center in South Minneapolis. The state-of-the-art court is set to become a hub for youth basketball and community activities, providing a safe and inspiring space for local residents to come together and pursue their passions.

The renovation project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Timberwolves and Lynx, U.S. Bank, and the Sabathani Community Center. The upgraded court features a sleek, modern design, complete with new flooring, hoops, and scoreboards. The facility will also offer a range of programming and services, including youth basketball leagues, coaching clinics, and mentorship initiatives.

“We’re thrilled to partner with U.S. Bank and the Sabathani Community Center to bring this amazing resource to the community,” said Timberwolves and Lynx CEO, Ethan Casson. “Our organization is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people, and this renovated court will provide countless opportunities for kids to learn, grow, and thrive through the game of basketball.”

The unveiling event drew a lively crowd of community members, local officials, and Timberwolves and Lynx players, who gathered to celebrate the new court and the opportunities it will bring. Guests were treated to a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a showcase of local youth basketball talent and a special appearance by Timberwolves mascot, Crunch.

U.S. Bank’s involvement in the project reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to community development and youth empowerment. “We believe that every young person deserves access to quality resources and opportunities to succeed,” said U.S. Bank Community Development Manager, Lisa Glover. “This renovated court will be a valuable asset to the community, and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
